An Upstate Getaway

An Upstate Getaway

Happy New Year! I can't believe another year is here! 2014 had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, but I'm looking forward to what 2015 has in store.

My husband and I typically spend New Year's Eve in the city, but this time we decided (last minute) to trek upstate and rented a lake house for a few days. I had been itching to get out of Manhattan and spend some time away from the hustle and bustle. It can become quite draining living in New York City...the constant go-go-go mentality, along with some of the most inconsiderate and rude people in the world, can really take it's toll on you. Plus, I'm trying to have more positivity in my life: positive thoughts, positive actions...a close friend of mine explained to me that if you have too much negative energy, there's no room for positive. So I definitely wanted to start the new year with nature, some R&R, and peace and quiet.

The lake house was in a tiny town called Broadalbin on the Sacandada Lake. We spent most of our time holed up in the cozy little house, venturing outside just to walk BK, check out the frozen lake, and play around with the drone. On Friday we took a little road trip to Saratoga Springs and patronized the shops on Broadway. It was such a cute town! Overall, it was definitely a relaxing, long weekend. We stuffed ourselves with delicious food, did a little yoga and morning meditation, and just enjoyed being to ourselves.
