First Cali Christmas

First Cali Christmas

Has anyone ever had "Lazy Christmas"? You know, where you stay in your pj's all day, eat takeout, and just be a total bum. As much as I would've loved to have been home in Mississippi with my family, it just wasn't in the cards this year. I don't have any accumulated vacation time at work yet, and flights ain't cheap into Memphis...let's be honest (I still don't understand how I can fly outside of the country cheaper than flying home). So, the hubs and I decided to spend Christmas, just the two of us, and try to do the least amount as possible. It was quite nice, not going to lie, and I definitely needed the break from work.

I actually did one thing on Christmas day though. I decorated my first gingerbread house. It was actually fun in the beginning, but became such a mess and my patience grew thin. Lesson learned, if I decide to decorate another again next year, I'll have the proper tools to do so.

Here are some pics of my lovely little gingerbread house and pics from the evening we bought our tree. I grew up having an artificial tree, but Dennis and I started buying real trees when we moved in together years ago. I LOVE the smell! I only put lights on it...couldn't be bothered with ornaments...maybe next year.
