Preggo Beauty Must Haves

Preggo Beauty Must Haves

Baby Girl has quite honestly sucked the life out of me. If you follow me on snapchat, you might have seen my rant about how I'm not experiencing any of those amazing pregnancy side effects...like pregnancy glow. I'm not even getting the long, luscious locks or crazy nail growth. I've got NOTHING. Several people have said since I'm having a girl, she's stealing my beauty. I mentioned this to my husband one day (big mistake) and he has since teased me about it. Even whispering to my belly "mommy is jealous you're going to beautiful." Really? Come on...

The second trimester is supposed to be when all of the good shit happens. The nausea goes away, your energy comes back, you get the glow and all that jazz. Well, my energy came back and the nausea FINALLY went away (thank god), but I'm still waiting for the rest of it.

In the meantime, being the beauty whore that I am, I've found some amazing products that I've been using and love! Writing this made me think "there should be a subscription service for mamas-to-be full of products to try." I thought I landed on my golden ticket, my billion dollar idea...then I googled it and of course someone has already thought of it. Damnit!

So here are some of my go-to beauty products that I've not been able to live without during my pregnancy (click the links below to buy):

mama mio Lucky Legs: I LOVE this stuff! It's a cooling gel made for your legs and feet...not going to lie...I've been known to slather it all over my body. Middle-of-the-night leg cramps leave my calf muscles really sore, so I massage this into my muscles before going to bed. It's smells like spearmint and within minutes my legs are tingling and refreshed.

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil: I was given this as part of a gift bag before becoming pregnant and didn't start using it until I reached my second trimester. It's a lightweight oil that absorbs quickly into the skin. I alternate nightly between this and a belly balm, rubbing a generous amount on my stomach and breasts. So far, no stretch marks!

Rodan+Fields Micro-Dermabrasion Paste: my friend, Marissa, gave me a sample of this years ago and I thought it was amazing. After noticing how dull and lifeless my skin was looking after becoming pregnant, I reached out to her and purchased a tub, because I knew it was exactly what I needed to bring life back to my skin. I don't just use this on my face, I use it on my entire body to exfoliate and my skin feels so soft and smooth afterwards.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil: I recently visited my local Nordstrom (my favorite department store) to pick up some Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, and I grabbed this stuff as well because my skin DRINKS it up. I'm not the biggest fan of rose scents, but once I pat this onto my damp skin post cleanse, it leaves me with a radiant glow. Exactly what my pregnancy should be doing, but isn't...so I cheat.

Vichy Nutrilogie 2 Cream: I had never tried this brand until I saw it on one of Jessie James Decker's (love her!) youtube videos about skinscare. She mentions she has dry skin and raved about it, so off to Ulta I went searching for it. To my suprise, my local CVS carries it and gives me coupons for it each time I buy it. This cream has been a life saver for my face. My skin was so dry and flaky, but this cream is seriously hydrating and keeps my skin moisturized all day.

Honest Organic Belly Balm: this is what I alternate the Clarins oil with. It's a super rich balm to soothe dry skin and help prevent stretch marks. It does have a bit of an overwhelming smell, but once I slather it on and hop into bed, I don't really notice it. I tend to lean towards this more so when I feel my skin is dry and want to have a surge of moisture overnight.

Does anyone have any product recs I should definitely try while pregnant? Let me know!
